Bradford stabbing: mother pushing baby in stroller kills manhunt

Following the deadly stabbing of a mother pushing her infant in a stroller, police have started a manhunt.

Due to the attack that occurred on Saturday at 15:21 BST in Bradford's Westgate neighborhood, Habibur Masum, 25, is wanted.

After receiving several stab wounds, the 27-year-old woman passed away in a hospital.

She was with her infant at the time of the incident, according to West Yorkshire Police, who also advised people not to approach Mr. Masum.

Although they haven't verified their relationship, the force claimed he was acquainted with the victim.

It's unclear if Mr. Masum is armed, however the force did report that a knife was discovered at the site.

He is described as Asian, with a thin physique, and he is from the Oldham region.

On camera, Mr. Masum may be seen sporting a grey, white, and black duffel coat, light blue or grey tracksuit pants with a small black insignia on the left pocket, and maroon sneakers.

After the incident near Westgate's intersection with Drewton Road, a witness also claimed to have seen him wearing a grey hoodie with the hood up.

"We have had significant resources following up a number of lines of inquiry to locate Habibur Masum, but at this time his whereabouts are unknown," stated Det Ch Insp Stacey Atkinson.

"I would urge anyone who does see him not to approach him but to call 999 immediately."

It is also thought that he has ties to Chester and Burnley.

Det Ch Insp Atkinson stated that Bradford residents could expect to see extra police officers in the area since the death of a young woman in "such shocking circumstances" has prompted "considerable co

ncern" in the community.
